03 - 1 small onion, chopped, or 1 tablespoon dried chopped onion
04 - 8 ounces canned tomato sauce
05 - 15.5 ounces canned dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

→ Seasonings

06 - 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
07 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
08 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
09 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
10 - 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
11 - 1/2 cup water, optional

03 - Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally until flavors meld and chili is heated through.

# Notes:

01 - For extra flavor and texture, top each serving with shredded cheese, sour cream, fresh herbs, or avocado slices.
