01 -
Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add dried spaghetti noodles and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water.
02 -
In a large skillet over medium heat, pour in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add ground pork and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until no longer pink and lightly browned. Transfer pork to a plate and discard excess fat.
03 -
In the same skillet, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion softens and the garlic is fragrant, about 2 minutes.
04 -
Return the browned pork to the skillet. Season with salt and coarse black pepper. Add diagonally sliced red hot dogs and continue cooking for 2 minutes.
05 -
Pour in sweet-style spaghetti sauce, banana ketchup, and the reserved pasta water. Stir thoroughly and let the mixture simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
06 -
Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss until the noodles are evenly coated.
07 -
Plate the spaghetti and ladle extra sauce on top. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese before serving.
