Fried Apples Brown Sugar Cinnamon (Printable Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 5 Granny Smith apples
02 - 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - ½ cup light brown sugar or dark brown sugar, packed
04 - 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
05 - ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
06 - ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Steps:

01 - Peel, core, and slice the apples into wedges about ½ inch thick.
02 - In a large cast iron skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
03 - Add the apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the skillet. Stir to coat the apples.
04 - Continue cooking over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes. Cook until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.
05 - Remove from the heat and gently stir in the vanilla extract. Serve immediately while warm.

01 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat or in the microwave until warmed through.
