# Ingredients:

01 - 12-14 oz loaf of French bread
02 - 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk, caramel flavor if available
03 - 4 eggs
04 - 1 cup milk
05 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
06 - 1 cup Kraft Caramel Bits or similar
07 - 2 tablespoons heavy cream
08 - 8 oz crème fraîche (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Cut bread into 2 to 3-inch cubes.
02 - Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray and press the bread cubes into the bottom, compressing as much as possible.
03 - Pour condensed milk evenly over the bread.
04 - Whisk together eggs, milk, and salt. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread.
05 - Cover and cook on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
06 - Melt caramel bits and heavy cream in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
07 - Slice and serve French toast casserole topped with crème fraîche and melted caramel or as desired.

# Notes:

01 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave in 30-second bursts or warm in the oven at 300°F for 10-15 minutes.
02 - Toast the bread lightly or let it sit out overnight before assembling to prevent sogginess.
03 - Mix liquid ingredients the night before to save time. Refrigerate overnight and combine with bread before cooking.
04 - For easier cleanup, line the slow cooker with parchment paper or spray it with nonstick spray.
05 - Both casserole-style and regular slow cookers can be used. Casserole-style slow cookers cook slightly faster due to a shallower depth.
