Pour condensed milk evenly over the bread.

Whisk together eggs, milk, and salt. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread.

Melt caramel bits and heavy cream in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.

Slice and serve French toast casserole topped with crème fraîche and melted caramel or as desired.
