01 - 1 pound ground beef
02 - 1 pound ground turkey

04 - 1 to 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely diced
05 - 3 cloves garlic, minced

06 - 2 cups tomato sauce, smooth
07 - 3 tablespoons tomato paste
08 - 1 cup beef broth, plus up to 1/2 cup more for desired thickness

→ Seasonings

09 - 2 tablespoons homemade chili seasoning (blend of chili powder, ancho chili powder, cumin, salt)
10 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
11 - Salt and pepper to taste

# Steps:

01 - In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and ground turkey until fully cooked, breaking the meat into crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
02 - Transfer the browned meat to a 6-quart slow cooker. Add diced onion, finely diced jalapeños, and minced garlic.
03 - Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, chili seasoning blend, and smoked paprika to the slow cooker. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
04 - Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the flavors are well blended and the chili is thickened.
05 - Before serving, taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or spices as desired.
